Pies of autumn, pear edition

Pear pie with an almond cake topping, made for my class’s final project presentations—seven epic hours of critique, booyah. Pie helps us all to get through. Potema the Wolf Queen says that pie helps her to get through her day as well—seven epic hours of sleeping on the couch *yawn*.

Fall pies

So I went on a baking binge on Sunday, mostly for work but we kept a pumpkin pie for ourselves :d Also, made a lovely savory mushroom pie, another year-round favorite.

Made for first day of tech of Cabaret at Williams College. Way better than Dunkin’ Donuts.

Peach, crème fraîche, & honey pie

So this is basically a mashup of my end-of-season peach pie with the apricot & crème fraîche tart. It was a lovely lovely thing except that the peaches weren’t as ripe as I would’ve liked. I had fun with the angled lattice variation (instead of perpendicular) and the scalloped crimping of the crust.
