Turning to the dark side

Since Mouser acquired sanies lupinus the all-natural way, it only seemed proper to do the same when I decided to take him down the blood-sucking path instead. So he got cured of his lycanthropy just in time for the new moon* and went roaming the dark dark countryside of The Rift. With a bit of luck (and some helpful players in zone chat) we found a horde of wild Bloodfiends, got bitten, and headed back into town to let the undeath begin!

Ooh this was exciting! Off to meet Mother Lamae!

It was good to get this backstory; I like how vampirism is handled in the Elder Scrolls lore, that there is no one definition of a vampire and their powers, or of their origins story; rather there are a set of variations on a theme of the kinds of powers they have, and an agreement that they are ultimately the creations of Molag Bal, though in different generations, variations and mutations.

And then, the bloodbath began!

At last, Some face time with the Blood Matron herself—

The Grayest Mouser is now a full-out bloodmage draining / siphoning vampire healer.

* This was before ZOS decided to randomize which nights the in-the-wild vampires and werewolves would appear, to counter the griefers who would kill the NPCs in order to prevent players from getting bitten, and then extort money from them to grant a bite themselves. Previously, NPC werewolves appeared on full moon nights, while NPC vamps roamed the darkness of the new moons. Thank you, assholes, for once again forcing the devs to make a break with lore or fun gameplay, because they have to deal with your selfish greedy crap.
